Our farm is located on the banks of the South fork of the Elkarn Creek. We've owned it since 1956. I was born in 1957 and have lived here all my life. My wife and I are raising our two sons here.
We have well drained soil and we use recommended practices for plasticulture by the University of Kentucky School of Agriculture. The minimal amount of pesticide is used to insure our crops are pest and disease free so they are appealing to our customers for consumption. The seed we use are mostly hybrid which insure quality and resistance to pests which substantially lowers the use of pesticides.
We grow only the sweetest and best watermelon and cantaloupe. The most vitamin and mineral packed vegetables containing many antioxidants that help prevent free radicals that cause cancer. The products we produce are the best and freshest money can buy.
Pumpkin season brings more than 20 varieties of winter squashes and pumpkins, corn shocks, gourds and other fall decorations all grown on our farm. Everything is irrigated when necessary. The fall season brings many families and friends to the farm to purchase produce, and also brings well being and togetherness that is so important to all of us.
